Age Pension Estimator ("we", "us", "our") operates this website at agedpensioncalculator.com.au. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how long we keep it. The short answer is: very little, and not for long.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

How the estimators work

The Age Pension estimators are calculators. You enter figures, the site works out an estimate, and the result is shown to you on screen. Those figures are not saved to an account, they are not linked to your identity, and there is no database on this site that holds your results. If you close the page without asking for a copy of your results, nothing about your calculation is retained.

What we collect when you ask for your results by email

If you choose to have your results emailed to you, we collect:

• your email address;
• the figures from that calculation, so that the email can show your result; and
• the date and time of the submission, together with technical information captured automatically by our form software, such as your IP address.

We use this information for one purpose only: to send you the results you asked for, and to send them again if delivery fails or you ask us for another copy. We do not use it for anything else.

How long we keep it

Submissions are automatically and permanently deleted 30 days after they are made. That 30 day window exists for a single reason: so that we can resend your results if the email does not reach you or you ask us to send it again. After 30 days the submission is erased from the site and cannot be recovered.

We do not maintain a customer database, a mailing list, or any ongoing record of the people who use the estimators.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
• We do not add you to a marketing list. We will not send you anything other than the results you requested, unless you have separately and clearly given us permission to.
• We do not retain your financial figures beyond the 30 day window described above.
• We do not use your information to build a profile of you or to make any decision about you.

Who else can access it

During the 30 day period, submissions are held on the website's hosting infrastructure and passed to the email service that delivers your results. These providers handle the information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not otherwise disclose your information to third parties, unless we are required to do so by law.

Cookies and website measurement

This site may use cookies and similar technology so that pages function correctly and so that we can understand, in aggregate, how the site is being used. That information relates to patterns of site usage rather than to you personally. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings, and the estimators will still work if you do.

Accessing, correcting, or deleting your information

You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it before the 30 days has elapsed. Email info@agedpensioncalculator.com.au and we will action your request promptly. Because we hold so little, and only briefly, most requests are straightforward to deal with.

Security

The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and submissions are held on secured hosting for the short period described above. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, but the strongest protection here is that there is very little information to hold, and it does not stay for long.

A note on the estimates

The estimators provide a general guide based on the figures you enter. They are not financial advice, and they are not a determination or assessment by Services Australia or Centrelink.

Changes to this policy

If we change the way we handle information, we will update this page and revise the date shown at the top.
